LI-DOG is pleased to announce that we will be hosting our next LI-DOG Pack Walk at beautiful Sands Point Preserve, the 216-acre former estate of the Guggenheim family. The preserve features multiple hiking trails, beautiful lawns, views of the Long Island Sound, a pond, and its own dog run! The Pack Walk will be followed by a bring-your-own picnic lunch on the picnic tables on the lawn in front of Hempstead House. For more information, go to LI-DOG Pack Walk at Sands Point Preserve!

How to Find Us: Meet at the Dog Run at the North End of the parking lot.

Please Note: The date for this LI-DOG Pack Walk on the magnets we handed out previously with the 2022 Pack Walk schedule is incorrect. The correct date for our Sands Point Preserve Pack Walk is Sunday, June 26th.

LI-DOG is pleased to announce that we will be hosting our next LI-DOG Pack Walk™ at beautiful Sands Point Preserve, the 216-acre former estate of the Guggenheim family! Our Pack-Walks – guided, group on-leash dog walks – are a great way for both you and your dog to socialize, while enjoying some of Long Island’s most beautiful parks!

Please join us for the LI-DOG Pack Walk™ at Sands Point Preserve on Sun., June 26th starting at 11 AM. (Please arrive 15 minutes early, so we can start the walk on time.) The Preserve features multiple hiking trails on 200 acres of woods, beautiful lawns, a pond, fields and great views of the Long Island Sound! Please be aware that some of the trails may be a bit steep at times and have roots and rocks.

We anticipate that the Pack Walk™ will take about an hour, but there will be opportunities to make the walk shorter for those who wish to do so.

Please join us after the Pack Walk for a bring-your-own picnic lunch! We have reserved the picnic tables, which are shaded, on the great lawn in front of beautiful Hempstead House. Sands Point has generously waived the fee to reserve the tables for LI-DOG!

Also, your pup can enjoy making new friends at the dog run.

PLEASE NOTE:

• Dogs are NOT allowed on the beach nor in any of the buildings, the rose garden or playground.

• Dogs must remain leashed AT ALL TIMES!

• Please do not use Flexi Leads as we’ll be walking in groups and people and dogs can get tangled.

• Also, please bring plenty of water for your dog and poop bags – as clean-up is a must.

Admission Fee: $15 per car, $4 per walk-in. Sands Point Conservancy members are free. A pay station at the Gatehouse enables contactless payment of the admission fee with credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and cash. If paying by cash, please bring exact change. This fee helps support this beautiful dog-friendly property!

Our Pack-Walks – guided, group on-leash dog walks – are a great way for both you and your dog to socialize, while enjoying some of Long Island’s most beautiful parks!

Masks are required to enter the buildings such as the bathrooms and Welcome Center. By the time of our Pack Walk, it is likely masks will not be required when walking on the trails. Please be sure to have a mask with you anyway. Also, please read the Sands Point Visitor Safety Rules posted on their website.

Due to concerns about COVID-19 and social distancing guidelines, we are limiting this Meetup to 30 people and will not be reserving the picnic tables after the walk. MASKS ARE REQUIRED and attendees must sign an agreement confirming neither they nor anyone in their family has been diagnosed with COVID-19 or experienced symptoms in the past 30 days. The COVID-19 Agreement and LI-DOG’s General Sign In Sheet and Liability Waiver can be downloaded and filled out in advance. Just bring it with you to the Meetup!

Our Pack-Walks – guided, group on-leash dog walks – are a great way for both you and your dog to socialize, while enjoying some of Long Island’s most beautiful parks!

Please join us for the LI-DOG Pack Walk™ at Sands Point Preserve on Sat., June 22nd starting at 11 AM. Sands Point Preserve features multiple hiking trails on 200 acres of woods, beautiful lawns, a pond, fields and great views of the Long Island Sound! Please be aware that some of the trails may be a bit steep at times and have roots and rocks.

We’ll meet on the big lawn in front of Hempstead House, the former home of the Guggenheim family, where you’ll also get great views of massive Castle Gould, the carriage house and stables. We anticipate that the Pack Walk™ will take about an hour, but there will be opportunities to make the walk shorter for those who wish to.

Once again this year we will be reserving some picnic tables, so bring your lunch.  We’ve reserved three tables down by the pond. If you have a folding chair, perhaps you could bring that and you and your pooch can join us while we have lunch overlooking the peaceful pond.

PLEASE NOTE: Dogs are NOT allowed on the beach, nor in the houses and must remain leashed AT ALL TIMES! Please do not bring Flexi Leads as not only can people and dogs get tangled, but there are snapping turtles in the pond, which you and your dog will want to avoid! Also, please bring water and poop bags – as clean up is a must.

Admission to Sand Point Preserve is $15 per car. Walk-ins are still $4.

Please arrive by 10:30 AM to sign in, so we can begin the walk promptly at 11 AM.

Our Pack-Walks – guided group on-leash dog walks – are a great way for both you and your dog to socialize, while enjoying some of Long Island’s most beautiful parks!

Please join us for the LI-DOG Pack Walk™ at Sands Point Preserve on Sat., June 16th starting at 10:30 AM. Sands Point Preserve features multiple hiking trails on 200 acres of woods, beautiful lawns, a pond, fields and great views of the Long Island Sound! Please be aware that some of the trails may be a bit steep at times and have roots and rocks.

We’ll meet by the boulders on the big lawn in front of Hempstead House, the former home of the Guggenheim family, where you’ll also get great views of massive Castle Gould, the carriage house and stables. We anticipate that the Pack Walk™ will take a little over an hour, but there will be opportunities to make the walk shorter for those who wish to. Also, this year we have reserved the picnic tables by the boulders on the great lawn – so bring a picnic lunch so you and your pooch can join us as we overlook the beautiful and peaceful Long Island Sound!

ALSO PLEASE NOTE: Sands Point is hosting a “Free Family Fun Day” on Saturday from 1 PM until 5 PM. In order to avoid the crowd, we are starting our Pack Walk at 10:30 AM sharp. Please arrive by 10:15, so we can begin our walk promptly. Also, be aware that there will be live music by the Rose Garden starting at 1 PM.  Because of the event, Sands Point will not be charging admission on Saturday!
