L.I. Against Domestic Violence’s Paws for a Cause

Is your dog dressed to impress? Join the fun, including a canine-and-human fashion show, activities, and raffles, at L.I. Against Domestic Violence’s Paws for a Cause. Cats, pocket pets, and other companion animals are welcome to enter in the virtual category.

Paws for a Cause will raise awareness of the link between domestic violence and animal abuse and raise funds for L.I. Against Domestic Violence’s services. LIADV provides life-saving support to victims of domestic abuse and their companion animals, including counseling, job placement, and shelter. They have helped hundreds of pets get to safety, and they assist 4,000 people a year on average.

Paws for a Cause will have the following Award Categories:

  • Best Human/Pet Duo
  • Best Celebrity Look-A-Like
  • Best DIY Costume
  • Best in Show
  • Virtually Fabulous

Whether your dog looks like you or Lady Gaga, this is the perfect event to show off!

Event tickets are $25 for your family group and one canine companion, $10 for each additional canine companion, and $15 for virtual entry.

Up to 65% of domestic violence victims delay or cannot escape their abusers because they are concerned about what will happen to their pets when they leave. TD Bank’s Paws for a Cause will raise awareness and funds to support L.I. Against Domestic Violence’s life-saving services. They are working to reduce this statistic by partnering with local animal organizations to ensure that pets have a safe place to go when a victim of domestic violence enters their shelter or goes to stay with a family member or friend where a pet cannot be accommodated.

Join them for a fun and fur-filled afternoon with performers, vendors and decked out pups as they strut their stuff on the runway! Register your pup and he/she can participate in the fashion show as well! There will also be an adoption meet & greet hosted by the Islip Animal Shelter.  Only non-aggressive pets that are registered in the fashion show will be permitted to attend this event.

$30 Dog Fashion Show Registration & One Owner
$15 General Event Admission Per Person
$10 Children under 10 Years Old

Leash up your pup and join “Paws for a Cause” – a walk to bring awareness to domestic violence and animal abuse. This fun, family event has activities for both people and pups – food, crafts, pet vendors, children’s activities and music and entertainment. Participate in the pet parade, top dog contest and doggy games. Visit the “Smooch-A-Pooch Booth” and be a part of the Blessing of the Pets.

Admission is $15 (pre-registration) for 1 pet and up to 5 accompanying humans. $20 (at the door), $10 each additional pet; $5 each additional human. This event benefits L.I. Against Domestic Violence. To pre-register for this event visit the L.I. Against Domestic Violence Website.
