Join North Shore Animal League for their 3rd Annual National Walk & Wag. You can walk with your furry best friend, enjoy a vendor fair, have fun on the doggy agility course, and even get a chance to adopt a new canine or feline companion from the Mobile Adoption Unit! On Saturday, September 28th the North Shore Animal League will be hosting their 3rd Annual Walk & Wag Event starting at 9AM. Get involved and join the fun while helping to raise funds to help save the lives of dogs, cats, puppies and kittens. After the walk, enjoy a vendor fair, have fun on the agility course, or adopt a new best friend!

Virtual Walks: Even if you can’t make it to the park on the 28th, you can walk anytime, anywhere. Just complete your walk by Sept. 28th.

If you register by Sept. 1st, you can save $15 off the registration fee.

All registrants receive a Walk & Wag t-shirt for themselves and a bandana for their pup!

Join the animal loving community help raise funds and awareness of the North Shore Animal League’s no-kill mission by joining this dog-friendly walk in beautiful North Hempstead Beach Park. Join as an individual, start your own team, or join an existing team. Plus, there’ll be a canine agility course for all dogs to enjoy, a morning stretch before the walk,  snacks and beverages, plus North Shore’s Mobile Adoption Unit will be on hand with adorable adoptable dogs and kitties.

Registration fee for this fundraising event is $25 and includes a t-shirt for humans and bandana for pups.

North Hempstead’s Town Board has invited residents to attend one of the three visioning meetings regarding the redevelopment of North Hempstead Beach Park. This is a great opportunity to contribute toward the development of dog-friendly spaces! The Town Board and Supervisor Judi Bosworth are asking for feedback from dog owners, as well as all residents.

Description:

Attendees will view a presentation by the Town’s Landscape Architects and engage them and fellow residents in a friendly discussion on what recreational elements they would like to see developed on both North Hempstead Beach Park’s 90 acres and the 200 wooded acres across the street. If interested, residents may come to multiple sessions. If you are unable to attend any of the scheduled meetings, there will be opportunity for you to give your comments and suggestions on an interactive website before the end of January 2017. Please make sure the voices of dog owners in the Town of Hempstead are heard!
