RESCHEDULED TO:

SAT., Sept. 30th, 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM

Fire Island Lighthouse Beach

Bayshore, NY

(Google Map)

How to Find Us: Meet us at the far eastern end (towards the lighthouse) of Parking Field 5 at Robert Moses State Park. We’ll walk to Fire Island National Seashore from there.

On SATURDAY, Sept. 30th, please join us for our LI-DOG Pack Walk™ along the beautiful Fire Island National Seashore! Our Pack Walks™–group on-leash walks–are a great way for you and your dog to socialize with other pet parents and their pups while enjoying some of Long Island’s beautiful parks and beaches. (Please note: This is a rescheduled date as we had to cancel last weekend’s Pack Walk because of the rain.)

For this Pack Walk™, we will meet at the far eastern end of Parking Field 5 (towards the lighthouse) at Robert Moses State Park. Please note that dogs are not allowed on the beach at Robert Moses. We will begin our walk, by walking north and east along the broad grassy shoulder of Robert Moses Parkway and then onto the dirt road that runs south of the lighthouse. There are great views of the lighthouse from the dirt road and the main path to the lighthouse.

Opposite the sign for the Fire Island Lighthouse, we’ll cross over the dunes on a pre-made path to the ocean beach. At that point, you’ll be able either to turn right and head back along the ocean to Robert Moses or if you want to do a bit longer walk, you’ll be able to turn left and walk further East towards Kismet, before doubling back towards Robert Moses. The shorter walk will cover about 1.5 miles and take about 45 minutes, the longer walk will be closer to 2.5 miles. In either case, you will be walking along the shore with your dog enjoying wide open views of sea, sand and sky.

Please be aware that dogs must remain leashed AT ALL TIMES on the Pack Walk. Make sure to bring poop bags–as clean-up is a must–and water for you and your dog. Also, please no retractable leashes as we’ll be walking as a group and people and dogs can get tangled.

Please arrive 15 minutes early so you can sign in and we can start on time.

We hope you can join us at Fire Island National Seashore on Sat., the 30th!

Please Note: This is a rescheduled date as we had to cancel last weekend because of the rain.

Both before and after our Pack Walk™, your pup can also enjoy making new friends at Charlie’s Run, the Sands Point dog run located just north of the big parking lot. The dog run is divided into two areas–one for dogs less than 25 pounds and the other area for all dogs. Dogs must be accompanied by their owners at all times.
