We are very sorry to announce that we must cancel our Pooch-a-Palooza Luau scheduled for Sunday, June 11th . The new ownership of what is now called Baja Boathouse is not honoring the contract we signed with Off-Key Tikki in March and when we called Baja Boathouse last week to confirm our date, we were told “dogs are not welcome” at the restaurant. LI-DOG Pooch-a-Palooza Luau Set for Sun., June 11th

Search is on for a New Venue

We are very sorry to announce that we must cancel our Pooch-a-Palooza Luau scheduled for next Sunday, June 11th .

The new ownership of what is now called Baja Boathouse is not honoring the contract we signed with Off-Key Tikki in March. In April, Off-Key Tikki was sold to Sunny Riverside Properties, an entity of LI restaurateur Lenny Oliva. At that time, we were assured our event would be “no problem.” Last week, however, when we called Baja Boathouse to confirm our date and do a walk-through, we were told “dogs are not welcome” at the restaurant.

We will, of course, refund the money people have paid for discounted advance tickets to the event. Those refunds will come early next week from LI-DOG’s PayPal account.

At this point, we are looking for a new venue for our summer fundraising event. We’re confident we’ll find another great outdoor space that will welcome dozens of patrons and their well-behaved pups.

We want to thank Off-Key Tikki for welcoming LI-DOG and our human and canine guests since 2015 for our big fundraising events. These events were not only a lot of fun but they were key to our fundraising efforts. Thanks to Mike Bruemmer, the owner of Off-Key Tikki, for his generous support for LI-DOG for so many years!

Thanks, everyone, for understanding. As soon as we have news on an alternative venue, we’ll let everyone know!

Kick off the Dog Days of Summer early by joining us for LI-DOG’s 2nd Annual Pints-n-Paws ™ Luau!

You and your dog are invited to join us at a Pints-n-Paws ™ Luau, Sunday, June 11th, from noon until 4 p.m. for a day filled with music, prizes, contests, hamburgers/hot dogs, and the spirit of Luau fun at tropically-themed Off-Key Tikki Bar & Grill in Patchogue. This year we’ve added a Luau Photo Booth for fun photos of you and your pooch. We’ll have door prizes for our guests throughout the event and lots of raffle baskets generously donated by more than a dozen gracious sponsors who believe in our cause—more access to Long Island beaches, parks, and other places for us and our dogs!

ADMISSION TO LI-DOG’s 2nd Annual PINTS-N-PAWS™ LUAU:
$15 discounted advance tickets are available (see below). Please note: Advance ticket sales end Sat., June 10th at 6 p.m.
$20 admission at the door on the day of the event.

You and Fido need to channel Jimmy Buffet—Hawaiian shirts, leis, coconut bras, grass skirts—the surfboard is the limit for this contest where the winner is the best-dressed, luau-themed pet parent AND fur baby. Yes, you and your dog must BOTH be dressed in Jimmy Buffet attire to enter this contest.

Biggest Lap Dog
Do you have a big guy who thinks all 120 pounds of him is still comfy on your lap? Then this is the contest for you! Disclaimer: we will be taking lots of photos for the hilarity of a St. Bernard on someone’s lap…

Silliest Dog Trick
For those of us with rebel dogs who won’t be satisfied just ‘sitting’—what’s the funniest trick your dog can do? Enter this contest to show everyone what Fido has learned under your tutelage.

Admission fee includes participation in contests, but you’ll need to sign up to play once you’re there. Contests will take place on Off-Key Tikki’s stage and on the large patio by the water. Even if your fur baby isn’t competing, come watch and cheer on a friend!
