Meet us at the north end of Parking Lot #1.
LI-DOG is pleased to announce that we will be hosting our next LI-DOG Pack Walk™ at beautiful Hempstead Lake State Park, a 737-acre state park located in West Hempstead; one of three state parks within the Town of Hempstead. The park contains the largest freshwater lake, Hempstead Lake, in Nassau County.
To get to the park, take Southern State Parkway, Exit 18S. Just follow the exit. Parking Lot #1, where we will meet, is the first parking lot on your right.
Please join us for our LI-DOG Pack Walk™, our first-ever at Hempstead Lake State Park on Sat., October 21st starting at 10:30 a.m. Cancelled Due to Rain. We will be walking on the northern part of the Loop Trail. Hopefully Mother Nature, who recently has not been kind to us, will be kind and some of the leaves will be displaying their beautiful fall colors, making our walk in the woods even more special.
We anticipate that the total Pack Walk™ will be about 2 miles and take about an hour, but there will be opportunities to make the walk shorter for those who wish to do so. Our Pack Leaders will be happy to point them out for anyone who asks.
Please be aware that dogs must remain leashed AT ALL TIMES on the Pack Walk™. Please also make sure to bring poop bags–as clean-up is a must! Also, no retractable leashes as we’ll be walking as a group and people and dogs can get tangled.
Please arrive 15 minutes early so you can sign in and we can start on time.
