This Saturday, May 7th, your family (including Fido!) can take a stand against abuse towards any family member by participating in Paws for a Cause, a walk to end domestic violence and animal abuse. The Walk to benefit Long Island Against Domestic Violence begins promptly at 9:00 a.m., but you can pre-register at www.liadv.org/liadv-events or by calling Dawn at 631.666.7181. Registration is $15 per family (including one dog) in advance; $20 on the day of the event.
The event, generously hosted by TD Bank and Empire National Bank, will run until 1:00 p.m. with a Blessing of the Pets, costume contest, raffle prizes, doggy games and plenty of vendor presentations.
Animals, because of their loving nature and capacity to overlook, are sadly the first and most common victims of domestic violence. Please join us in protecting these precious lives by giving them our voice!
