How to find us:
Meet us on the grass just before the paved bridge at the north end of the Mansfield Park parking lot at the Walker St. entrance. Watch out for bikes on the bridge!
Does your dog like to walk in the woods, play in the water, and see their dog-friends or make new ones? If the answer is yes, then join us for our LI-DOG Pack Walk™ at Massapequa Preserve on Sat., Aug. 17th at 10:30 a.m.!
We’ll be walking the Fire Road Trail, a flat, wide, mostly shaded, dirt trail within Massapequa Preserve. We’ll walk about a mile down the trail, then turn onto a smaller trail that ends at a clearing with a creek and shallow pond. We’ll stop there for water and let the dogs wade and swim.
Once the dogs have played and cooled off, we’ll head back up the trail to where we started. The entire walk will cover approximately 2 miles and take about 2 hours, including their “playtime”.
PLEASE NOTE: While there may be off-leash dogs on the trail, dogs attending the pack walk must be kept on-leash on the trail. Please be aware that some people may take their dogs off-leash when they are playing in the water!
Please NO RETRACTABLE LEASHES as we are walking in a group and the dogs and their humans can get tangled.
Please don’t forget to bring poop bags, as pick up is a must, and while the trail is shaded by trees, don’t forget to bring water for you and your pup.
