Our walk is almost all on flat ground and there are opportunities to shorten the walk for those who wish to do so. Make sure to bring poop bags–as clean-up is a must! — and bring your camera as there are many beautiful photo opportunities on the grounds.

Our LI-DOG Pack Walk™ takes place during Old Westbury Gardens’ Spring Dog Festival. Proceeds support LI-DOG’s work to gain more access to public parks and beaches for Long Island dog owners and their dogs.

Dogs must be on-leash at all times when visiting the Gardens and are not allowed in any buildings on the grounds. Please no retractable leashes when on the Pack Walk as the dogs may become entangled. Dogs are also NOT allowed in the Walled Garden.

Take your pick of two very special settings – scenic Gettysburg, Pennsylvania or the beautiful, rustic Catskill Mountains of New York. Stay as busy as you like with dog-centered classes, DOGA (yes, yoga with your dog), “Barks & Crafts,” outdoor dining, dog-friendly karaoke, and nightly entertainment. Or simply relax – in Gettysburg with a private, man-made lake for the dogs or in a dog-friendly pool in the Catskills.

Canine Camp Getaway is a one-of-a-kind vacation geared to dog lovers and their dogs. Both facilities are totally dog-friendly for all ages, sizes, and abilities – dining and Yappy Hours, and days filled with activities you can share with your pup including hiking, agility, swimming, Frisbee, lure coursing, canine freestyle dance, and more!

In addition, there are classes on lots of topics including Canine CPR, seminars from veterinarians and trainers, and resources on how to help your dog live a happy and healthy life! The venues, while different, are people-friendly too; Gettysburg has a few more amenities, while East Durham emphasizes an unplugged, laid-back feel.

Rates range from $1,025 (meals and activities only) to $1,650 per person in Gettysburg and $825 (meals and activities only) to $1,300 per person in East Durham, depending on occupancy. .05/21/2022 – LI-DOG Bench Donation Belmont Lake SP Dog Run

LI-DOG Bench is In at Belmont Lake State Park Dog Run!

The dog run at Belmont Lake State Park in Babylon has a new amenity–a bench donated by LI-DOG. LI-DOG made the donation, a first for the organization, through New York State’s Natural Heritage Trust, which allows individuals and organizations to donate to programs and projects that benefit NYS parks. The installation of the new bench was celebrated by dogs and their people at LI-DOG’s Pack Walk™ at Belmont Lake SP in May 2022. On the bench is a plaque that reads: For all the happy dogs and their people. Enjoy! LI-DOG. The dog run at Belmont Lake State Park has a new amenity–a bench donated by LI-DOG!

Bailey, Kej and Chez modeled the new bench after our LI-DOG Pack Walk™ at Belmont Lake State Park on May 21st, 2022. Thanks to our colleague Joann for this great shot!

On the new bench is a plaque that says, “For all the happy dogs and their people. Enjoy! – LI-DOG”

LI-DOG made the donation, a first for our organization, through the Natural Heritage Trust which allows individuals and organizations to donate to programs and projects that directly benefit New York State parks.

The dog run, which opened in June 2021, is located within dog-friendly Belmont Lake State Park in Babylon and features separate small dog and large dog areas, water fountains, waste bag dispensers and trash cans.

We hope everyone enjoys the dog run at Belmont Lake State Park and the new bench!
