Thurs., Nov. 16th,  7:00-9:00pm
Plainview-Old Bethpage Library

Have you ever been involved in or witnessed a touchy situation at the dog park? An incident between dogs can often lead to disagreements between dog owners. Learn how to prevent and defuse touchy pet-related situations at the dog park when Debra Vey Voda-Hamilton, a Pet Care Planning Advocate and Conflict Mediator, joins LI-DOG for our November 16th Meeting! Debra will share her knowledge and expertise in applying skills related to social boundaries, problem resolution and legal policies in situations ranging from the dog park, to your neighborhood and even within your family! This FREE LI-DOG event is for any dog owner that values positive social experiences not only  for their dogs, but for themselves!

Hamilton is also the author of Prepare for your Pet’s Care; The Road Map for Short and Long Term Care For the Animals You Love.  Join her and LI-DOG on Nov. 16th when she’ll share her knowledge of preventative measures and peaceful reconciliation when faced with conflicts over animals.

Please note: As space is limited at the library, all RSVP’s must be done on the LI-DOG Meetup group. Please remember to keep your RSVP up to date, so we can accommodate everyone who can make it to our meeting on Nov. 16th!

Please join LI-DOG for our final Pack WalkTM of the 2017 season at beautiful Alley Pond Park, just over the Nassau border in Queens. This 655-acre park features miles of trails, ponds, meadows and woods. Our Alley Pond Park LI-DOG Pack WalkTM —a guided group on-leash dog walk–will start on the White Trail just east of the Parking Lot next to Baseball Field 12. We’ll then turn west onto the Orange Trail so we can walk our dogs by two pretty freshwater ponds and continue north, before heading back south again through the woods, so we make a big loop. (To see a map of the trails in Alley Pond Park, go to Alley Pond Park Trail Map.) The walk will take 45 minutes to an hour and other than one medium-sized hill is almost all on flat ground. The trail varies between asphalt and dirt.

If you’ve never been to Alley Pond Park, this is a great opportunity to get a good introduction to the park guided by an LI-DOG Pack Leader who knows the park well. If you already know Alley Pond Park, this is your chance to enjoy the park with your dog and other dog lovers and their pups!
