Wines and Canines Walk/Run

It’s peak harvest season on the North Fork and the perfect time to take a leisurely stroll or invigorating run with your pup at Kent Animal Shelter’s Wines and Canines Walk/Run! Join fellow pet families at Baiting Hollow Farm Vineyard for a day of fun while walking to support Kent Animal Shelter’s mission to help animals in crisis. Dress your pet for the costume contest or the people/pet look-a-like contest, take your chance on the 50/50 raffle, door prize, or special pop up prizes that will be along the route. After the walk enjoy live music, meet some adoptable pets, and shop for wine and food plus doggie items at Kent’s traveling pet boutique.

Kent Animal Shelter’s Wines and Canines Walk/Run is not a timed race and walkers/runners can begin the course anytime between 11AM and 1PM.
$30 minimum donation per person, children under 12 are free

Kent Animal Shelter is a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization established in 1968 in Calveton, NY that provides a no-kill haven for homeless animals, adoption services, a spay/neuter clinic, and humane education.

Get ready for a Sunday brunch both you and your pup can enjoy–LI-DOG’s Barkin’ Brunch at The Refuge on Sun., Oct. 1st! Relax on their beautiful outdoor patio while dining on delicious food,  drink specials, and dog treats. Take a chance on winning some beautiful raffle baskets and learn about LI-DOG and our mission to gain access to Long Island beaches and parkland for dog owners and their dogs. We will have a 50/50 raffle with the proceeds going to Austin Pets Alive!

Seating outside for brunch on the patio is limited, so it is suggested that if you want to make sure you get a table, call The Refuge at (631) 577-4444 to make a reservation. There is also an area on the patio for those just wanting to have a drink and mingle.

Make sure to walk your dog outside the venue before entering, bring poop bags, and watch your dog closely.
Please note that while well-socialized and fully vaccinated dogs are allowed on the grounds of our venue, they are NOT permitted to enter the indoor bar/restaurant area.

Join the animal loving community help raise funds and awareness of the North Shore Animal League’s no-kill mission by joining this dog-friendly walk in beautiful North Hempstead Beach Park. Join as an individual, start your own team, or join an existing team. Plus, there’ll be a canine agility course for all dogs to enjoy, a morning stretch before the walk,  snacks and beverages, plus North Shore’s Mobile Adoption Unit will be on hand with adorable adoptable dogs and kitties.

Registration fee for this fundraising event is $25 and includes a t-shirt for humans and bandana for pups.

9AM – Registration/Check-In
10AM – Walk Begins
