11/19/23 – LI-DOG Pack Walk at Terrell River County Park!   Recently updated !

How to find us: We will meet in the small parking lot near the trail head which only has space for about 15 cars, but the parking lot at Kahler’s Pond Town Park, which is just across the road, has ample space, so park in that lot and walk across the road to meet up with us.

On Sunday, Nov 19th, please join LI-DOG for our final LI-DOG Pack Walk™ of the 2023 season, but our first-ever at Terrell River County Park in Center Moriches! Our Pack Walks–group on-leash walks–are a great way for you and your dog to socialize with other pet parents and their pups while enjoying some of Long Island’s beautiful parks and beaches.

Please note: This Pack Walk is on our schedule for Saturday, November 18th, but we’ve had to change the date to Sunday, Nov. 19th.

Terrell River County Park consists of 263 acres of passive parkland located on Montauk Highway, opposite Kahlers Pond Town Park in Center Moriches. The park is open for hiking, nature walks and birdwatching. It is also popular with local residents as the trails go north and south from Montauk Highway to Moriches Bay and on-leash dogs are allowed.

We will be walking on the main Terrell River Trail, a fairly wide loop-trail, which is 2.7 miles long. There is a turn-off that you can take to shorten the walk, but it is only about a half-mile in. You can also just turn around and return the way you came. The trail is easy to follow and well-marked.

Please Note: It has been reported this year that ticks have been a problem, so make sure that your dog is on a preventative, and we also advise that you and your pup to stay out of the tall grasses and stay on the main trail.

Please be aware that dogs must remain leashed AT ALL TIMES on our Pack Walk. Make sure to bring poop bags–as clean-up is a must–and water for you and your dog. Also, please no retractable leashes as we’ll be walking as a group and people and dogs can get tangled.

Please arrive 15 minutes early so you can sign in and we can start on time.
