Please note: We have changed the location of this Pack Walk™ to Southards Pond Park. Check out LI-DOG Pack Walk™ at Southards Pond Park for details. Please join LI-DOG for our first-ever Pack Walk™ at Edgewood-Oak Brush Plains Preserve in Deer Park! Edgewood-Oak Brush Plains is a state-owned, 843-acre nature preserve situated within the towns of Babylon, Huntington and Islip. It was the site of the former Edgewood State Hospital, which is long gone now.

The trails and paths in the preserve are ideal for hiking, biking, jogging, birding and, of course, dog walking! Old Commack Road, a paved 1.6- mile road that runs north-south and is now part of the preserve’s trail network is great for jogging and biking, especially for families with children. There are also many nice flat, pine needle-covered trails that are great for dog walking.

This LI-DOG Pack Walk™ —a guided group on-leash dog walk–will start at the gazebo near the parking lot. At the beginning and at the end of our walk we will be following a trail that runs in front of a model airplane flying field. Please be mindful of the planes. We will post more details on the trail we will be walking nearer the date of our actual walk.

Because parking at the Preserve is limited, we have to limit this LI-DOG Pack WalkTM to 40 people.
