logo-copy-300x300Central Suffolk Paws, LI-DOG’s Brookhaven campaign, is participating in this year’s Bark for Your Park Contest sponsored by Pet Safe at http://www.petsafe.net/barkforyourpark. Each year PetSafe encourages communities of pet owners, pet professionals, shelters, and local civic officials to join together to help their town win a $100,000 Grand Prize to create or renovate a local dog park. Read a GREAT letter of support for the dog park written by Brookhaven Councilman Kevin LaValle. Four communities—small, medium, large and highest vote-getter versus opportunity–will also be chosen as runner-ups with prizes of $25,000 each. With the limited budget the Town of Brookhaven has for this new dog park on Boyle Road in Selden, this grant would be a tremendous help!!

Voting began on Wed., May 7th and continues until 5 p.m. ET on Sat., June 7th. Please help us win! Vote every day, twice a day at http://www.PetSafe.net/barkforyourpark/ ( click on “Create your account/Login”, “Search for one”, “Selden, NY”, “Vote now”) and on Facebook. Fifteen finalists will be selected based on the highest vote-getters and their relative size. Finalists will be notified on June 13th Winners will be announced on August 7.

Please spread the word, vote often, and help us win!
