Sago Palm Poisonings on the rise
The Sago Palm has been a commom addition to outdoor landscaping in sunny climes, but in recent years, has also emerged as a trendy houseplant in northern states. The plant is highly toxic to cats and dogs. The Animal Poison Control Center reports that poisonings are up 200 percent since 2003, and 50 to 75 percent of those cases resulted in fatalities.
